Progressive announces launch of Snapshot Road Test

MAYFIELD VILLAGE, Ohio, July 22, 2020 – Since 1999, Progressive has earned a reputation as an industry leader in usage-based insurance (UBI), and has continuously refined the technology and user experience since its introduction to the insurance market. Today, Progressive announces Snapshot Road Test(SM), a new mobile app option to complement Snapshot Test Drive.

With Snapshot Road Test, drivers can see if they might save on their car insurance rates due to safe driving before switching to Progressive. The new experience will be accessed through Progressive’s current Snapshot mobile app and allows users to get rewarded for their safe driving habits in the form of discounted rates when they receive a quote with Progressive.

“Consumers can now take a Snapshot Road Test using our mobile app. With Snapshot Road Test they can see if they will receive a discount on their auto insurance based on their driving habits, before they buy.” said Jim Haas, Progressive Usage Based Insurance Business Leader. “The easy-to-use mobile app provides near real-time feedback and timely driving tips aimed at making roadways safer for everyone.”

Participants simply download the Snapshot app, enter some basic information to register and then drive for 30 days. Drivers can check their progress right in the app at any time and, if the data confirms good driving habits, they could qualify for a discount based on their good driving skills. At the end of their Road Test, drivers can decide if they want to switch to Progressive and potentially save, or stay with their current car insurance provider.

The Snapshot app can be downloaded via Google Play or the Apple App Store. Drivers can also participate in the Snapshot Road Test referral program which allows those who have successfully completed the trial to refer friends and family. Once their referrals also successfully complete Road Test, all participants receive a $25 Amazon.com Gift Card*
